]]> The crowd at the Sydney Opera House was pleasantly surprised when it was announced that Marshall was the winner of the award for ‘Best Blues and Roots Artist’ at this year’s MucicOz Awards.

Marshall joins the illustrious company of previous MusicOz award winners The Jezebels, Bluejuice, Bliss N Eso and Blue King Brown.

The win was based on the song ‘Almost Killed You’, the lead track from Okell’s new EP ‘Sugar’ released at Byron Bay’s ‘Bluesfest’ in April and saw Marshall Western union money order presented with a shiny plaque and a bag full of goodies.
